Upcoming FONT Shows!!!!

on monday, august 22nd, i'll be playing with a new quartet led by trumpeter peter evans and including mary halvorson and kevin shea. we'll be playing a set of music composed by peter in the hyper-crazy jazz category as part of the FONT festival.
then, on tuesday the 23rd the new york trumpet ensemble will be performing in a new expanded version. both shows cost $10 (A SPECTACULAR VALUE!!!) and start at 8 PM. details below:

Quartet Gig!!!

on monday, august 1, i'll be performing at the 55 bar with the jon lundbom/bryan murray quartet (also featuring danny fischer on drums). we'll be playing from 6:30 to 9, so come on out to hear some great modern jazz. for those of you familiar with my various projects, this one promises to be jazzier than usual. hey hey hey!!! the music is great (by jon and bryan) and the evening will be a lot of fun. i assume there's a modest cover, but i'm not privy to that information at this time. see you there!!!!

busy week

this week i'm all over the place!
monday at niagra with jan, latham and company playing some standards....fun-like....then tuesday im at queens college with some members of ICE playing some new music concerts at 5 and 7:30.....wednesday i'll be at the pour house with charle evans and the language of (jan roth's last US appearance) with peter evans, we start at 9 or so......thursday is the st. mary's high school chorus concert, which i will be conducting with the help of natasha ullman on the piano.....i think i'm doing something friday, but it escapes me at the moment. come on out to some gigs!!!!!

New York Trumpet Ensemble

the NYTE is now an ensemble in residence at holy trinity church, and will be performing regular concerts there starting this month. our first show will be on jan. 24th, our first show with dave taylor on bass trombone. i'll put a more specific post up as the date gets nearer.

Recent History

sorry i've been lazy with this thing as of late...here's the recent news to catch you up.
last month i played 3 gigs with the Christian Pincock quintet, and again earlier this month at kavehaz. december also saw the new york trumpet ensemble return to action at the lucky cat in brooklyn. my quartet recorded a tv show for the floral park public access channel, and i've been doing a bunch of freelance stuff. i'll be more consistent with the blog from now on...check it out.
