thanks to everyone in europe and the u.s. who came out to our shows during the summer tour. we had a great time. our performance at the upcoming red hook jazz festival has been cancelled, so if you see info on that, the deal is we will be playing the early set at zebulon that night. so, no red hook jazz fest on september 18, but come see us at zebulon in brooklyn at 8:30!

on december 19 and 20, university of the streets will be hosting a Hot Cup Records Festival. the series was curated by sam kulik. on december 19 at 8 PM, Mostly Other People Do the Killing will be performing. on december 20, the Charles Evans/Neil Shah duo will perform at 8 PM followed by the Jon Irabagon Trio featuring Barry Altschul at 10 PM.

U of the Streets is at 130 E. 7th st. and there is a $10 cover per set. check out the rest of the shows there this month!!!

at 8 pm, i'll be performing with the evan wilson quartet featuring ian young and evan pazner.

there are four bands on the bill, we're playing in the old office at the knit, i'm sure there's a modest cover, and the music will be great!!!!!!!!

then, on friday, i'll be performing camille saint-saens' "carnival of animals" at steinway hall with a student ensemble from the long island conservatory. the show starts at 7 and the hall is on 57th st between 5th and 6th (i think)...it's on the north side of the street.

on monday, august 22nd, i'll be playing with a new quartet led by trumpeter peter evans and including mary halvorson and kevin shea. we'll be playing a set of music composed by peter in the hyper-crazy jazz category as part of the FONT festival.
then, on tuesday the 23rd the new york trumpet ensemble will be performing in a new expanded version. both shows cost $10 (A SPECTACULAR VALUE!!!) and start at 8 PM. details below:

on monday, august 1, i'll be performing at the 55 bar with the jon lundbom/bryan murray quartet (also featuring danny fischer on drums). we'll be playing from 6:30 to 9, so come on out to hear some great modern jazz. for those of you familiar with my various projects, this one promises to be jazzier than usual. hey hey hey!!! the music is great (by jon and bryan) and the evening will be a lot of fun. i assume there's a modest cover, but i'm not privy to that information at this time. see you there!!!!

The Language Of

i'll ve recording on wednesday, may 18 with charle evans and the language of. this will be the final run with drummer jan roth, who i moving back to germany. those of you who heard last week's pourhouse gig heard his phenomenal playing, and this will complete his current tenure with the band. we all wish him well, and invite you to check out the music when it gets released.

this week i'm all over the place!
monday at niagra with jan, latham and company playing some standards....fun-like....then tuesday im at queens college with some members of ICE playing some new music concerts at 5 and 7:30.....wednesday i'll be at the pour house with charle evans and the language of (jan roth's last US appearance) with peter evans, we start at 9 or so......thursday is the st. mary's high school chorus concert, which i will be conducting with the help of natasha ullman on the piano.....i think i'm doing something friday, but it escapes me at the moment. come on out to some gigs!!!!!
