MOPDTK meets Puttin' on the Ritz

mostly other people do the killing will be playing on monday, september 25 at the syrup room (bushwick off of morgan ave) with bj rubin on vocals. bj is half of the duo "puttin' on the Ritz" which also includes MOPDTK's own kevin shea on drums. we'll be doing standards with the full quintet starting at 11:30 or so (preceeded by Talibam! and others)

on sunday, sept. 17, i'll be playing at the rose on grand street in williamsburg with the merle haggard band. the group is mostly big five chord members with greg ritchie on drums. we play one set at 9:30, there may be a $5 cover, and the club is near havermeyer st. see you there!!!

Galapagos!

on thursday, aug 31st MOPDTK will be performing at galapagos on n. 6 street in williamsburg, brooklyn. we're the 3rd group in a night of jazz that includes the andy neff group and confluence (featuring andrew bain and jon irabagon). one low cover gets you in for the whole evening. the show starts at 8. see you there!!!!

I'll be all over the place in august!!!
first, i'll be playing the scranton jazz festival with the language of quartet led by the evans "brothers" peter and charle and featuring eli hludzik on drums. we'll be the first of an entire day of bands. admission is $10 for the whole day for students and we start at 2PM in nay aug park. check out http://www.pajazzalliance.com/scrantonjazzfestival.htm for more info.

MOPDTK will be playing the cake shop at 152 Ludlow st. in the lower east side on sunday, april 30. we start at 8 PM, the cover is $5 and we're opening up for a night of bands including Chrissy and Emily, and EYESTEK. See you there!!!!

there is no cover, and we'll be playing one set from 7:30 - 9 PM

Mostly other people...will be playing on monday, march 13 at otto's shrunken head (538 E 14th st between ave A and ave B) at 10 pm....no cover......
then.....
thrusday, march 16 at jimmy's restaurant (43 e 7th st)...show starts at 8...$8 cover
and....
saturday, march 18 at glass house gallery (38 s. 1st st, brooklyn) at around 11....we're the last band of four that start at 8pm.
$5 cover for the whole night that includes: ProtonProton, True Primes, and Stay Fucked.

Upcoming gigs

on wednesday, march 8, i'll be performing with 2 groups at the knitting factory
at 8 pm, i'll be performing with the evan wilson quartet featuring ian young and evan pazner.
at 10 pm, i'll be on again with jon lundbom and big five chord....playing the music of merle haggard....bryan murray, jon irabagon, and greg ritchie will be on the gig.
there are four bands on the bill, we're playing in the old office at the knit, i'm sure there's a modest cover, and the music will be great!!!!!!!!

then, on friday, i'll be performing camille saint-saens' "carnival of animals" at steinway hall with a student ensemble from the long island conservatory. the show starts at 7 and the hall is on 57th st between 5th and 6th (i think)...it's on the north side of the street.

on monday, march 6, MOPDTK will be performing at tonic. we will be joined by kelly roberge on tenor sax, filling in for jon irabagon. we will be joined by the taylor ho bynum sextet. they go on at "8" ish......we will follow....9:30?
$8 gets you in for the whole night....what a deal!!!
tonic is on norfolk st in the lower east side, just north of delancey.

on monday, feb. 20, i'll be playing at the 55 bar with the bryan murray/jon lundbom quartet. we're playing 2 sets from 7 to8. there's no cover, but you need to buy a drink. the club is at 55 christopher st. right next to the 1 and 9 stop. the music will be great....compositions by the co-leaders and a tune by merle haggard. see you there!!
